  Philippines Independence Day 2009

Here is another one of my Japanese WWII aircraft subjects.  A Tamiya 1/48 A6M3 Zero Model 32 "Hamp" modeled to represent the aircraft of PO2 Kenji Yanagiya during the ill-fated Yamamoto escort mission on April 18, 1943.  The aircraft was based in Buin (Kahili) Airfield at Bougainville Island.

Built straight OOB and used Gunze Mr. Color paints airbrushing them free hand.  Since this was an old kit, I went to my spare decal box for the hinomaru and tail numbers.

Despite being an old kit with some raised panels, I was pleased with the overall fit and detail

Cheers,
