This
is my Tooned up Macchi. I picked up a few of the 21st Century
Toys 1/32 aircraft kits before Wal-Mart stopped carrying them. You can't
beat a 1/32 aircraft kit for about $11.00.
Since
the kit was so cheap I decided to have some fun and experiment with it.
There was a picture that I saw on the internet and used this as my inspiration.
Modifications:
I
increased the diameter of the nose and chopped most of the fuselage between the
tail and the canopy out. Shortened the wings by about 2 inches in length
and about ¾ inch in width. I repositioned the pilot and widened the eyes.
I wish that I would have made them a bit bigger so that he would have looked a
little more anxious about having to step out of a burning aircraft. I
replaced the prop with bits of wire. The kit decals were used which went
on really well. The base is a cheap wood plaque with a homemade decal.
The smoke and flames are expand a foam from the local home depot.
