  Hellenic Independence Day 2008

Hi Guys,

This time I'm here, with my Italeri F-86E(M) Sabre in 1/48 scale.

The kit, is quite good, with very good surface detail. The dimensions are accurate and the landing system is acceptable.

The cockpit is scratch built, painted black. I used clear film for the armoured windscreen.

A very good kit, with nice recessed panels, correct dimensions and good landing gear. The cockpit was mainly scratchbuilt and was painted black. The "V" shaped front part of the canopy was made of clear plastic.

The model was painted with Μetal 2002 by HUMBROL. I used my computer in order to make the special Hellenic markings of the 341 Sqn.

The Hellenic Air Force received the first F-86Es on 7/20/1954 at Elefsina. Those were used aircraft by the Royal Canadian Air Force, also known as Canadair CL-13Mk-2.

PAINTING

For the exterior painting I used Metal 2002 – HUMBROL

The 341 squadron’s emblem is home made using decal print paper

I hope you like it!

Peter
