  Malaysia National Day 2008

Hi.  This is my latest addition to my collection.  Actually I finished my artwork last year but I missed my 'Merdeka day' (Malaysian national day).  So for this day I'd like present my Hawk 100.  I used the Airfix Hawk 100 kit and decals from VFA Productions.

There are 2 modifications that must been done when I'm building for this model. Firstly this model lacks four small wing fences. To solve this I used bent cooper wire. Secondly the flare/chaff mounted at vertical fin strip near rear wing although this model has required for this part.  For this section I sanded down before used a sheet of plastic card and did some modification to make it look like a RMAF version.

For painting, actually I feel embarrassment when I tell what the paint I used it. I'm still using custom aerosol spray paint for my Hawk. That's funny what???  I'm not professional and lacks of budget and skill.

Overall I use PS grey no.5 + Dark grey no.25 (for anchor aerosol spray only).  After that all the color dried I use dust carbon from pencil for weathering.  This is my 1st trial and experiment how to make some effect on my model.

Finally I use VFA production decal sheet and choose No.15 Squadron currently base in Butterworth AFB.  All equipment for example the missile head cover, air intake cover, front wheels "saddle" and "remove before flight" tag, made with plastic card, masking tape and copper wires.
