In 1955 a total of 24 Mk 6s
Sabres were ordered by
Israel. At least 8 were allocated serial numbers and one was even
painted in Israeli markings. However, the upheaval caused by the 1956 Suez
crisis led the Canadian government to cancel the delivery of the planes.
The Heyl Ha'Avir purchased the Dassault Mystere IV instead.

The Model
For the Israeli Sabre I used Italeri's 1/48
F-86E Sabre http://forums.ort.org.il/files/90/2215882/5665448.jpg ,
I built
it out of the box
with one change in the front gear doors.
This
is a very
nice kit, not difficult, but a very irritating kit. Some of the parts
are not
easy to glue, and some of them are not even, so I had a lot of putty
& filing work, but there is a model that you don't have to work a
lot?
The
serial number 6063 was made by myself.
The
"Blue Magen David" came from Isradecal and the stencils were from the kit.

I
used the Humbrol colors: bottom light ghost grey hu127, top dark gull gray hu140
& dark green hu117, for the cockpit I used, hu127 and flat black hu33.
That's
all friends
Have
a nice time modeling
Shalom
Israel
