1/48 Hasegawa CF-18 Hornet

This is kit number P26, F-18 C that I converted to the CF-18 A (pre upgrade).  I used an Aires cockpit and Leading Edge decals.  I like the Aires cockpit over the BlackBox because it has the right balance between PE parts and resin.  The Leading Edge decals were brittle and cracked up.  I had to lightly spray them with a clear gloss directly on the sheet in order to fix this.  I used Humbrol and ModelMaster paints.

As you probably know, Hasegwa's F-18 kits are the best on the market and I wouldn't buy an F-18 from any other manufacturer.  But it still has its flaws.  The biggest flaw is that it is missing the intakes and it just opens up to the empty cavity inside.  Next time I'll use something like SeamlessSuckers or something else.

I had to add wires in the air brakes.  The raised detail wasn't enough and the brakes look 100% better.  I also added some wires to the landing gear, the cockpit, and the canopy.  The bombs are from a Hasegawa weapons kit.
