IPMS USA Nationals 2006

Kansas City, Missouri   City of Fountains

After saying good-bye to my wife and 2 daughters I passed through security and waited for my flight.....while waving every few seconds to my young daughters on the other side of the security window.  I miss them already.

I arrived safe and sound after a very comfortable flight aboard Delta Airlines with one stop at their hub in Salt Lake City.  We did have a few minutes of excitement during a rough ride through a very large thunder storm....that the crew handled very well.  The planes were those small Canadair Regional Jets with 2 rows of seats on each side with a centre isle.  When I left my little west coast of Canadian city on the pacific ocean, it was sunny with temps of 19C or 66F (we were having a bit of a pleasant mid-summer cold spell).  Kansas City was somewhat warmer than home........but that is why air conditioning and bottled water were invented.

To say I don't do well in hot climates is  a severe understatement and to even up the odds I purchased a variety of small electric fans......2 USB fans for the laptop and 5 battery powered fans for more mobile use.  Below are the battery operated fans I brought along.....yup....they are very cheap.....so I brought spares.....the red and white Canadian flag one was my joking wife's idea.  She figured it would get a few laughs.

I look forward to getting out tomorrow on the opening day of the Nationals.
