I
have never been a fan of WWII aircraft, but after watching Floyd Werner
“Master Class Model Building Videos” on building the Bf-109G-6, I
guess you can say…”The rest is history”..
For
my first attempt, I decided to do a 1/48 FW 190-D9 from Tamiya. The only
reason why I chose this kit is the bright Yellow-Red “ Defense of the Reich”
Band of JG 301 that caught my attention. Additional stuffs include the
Kubelwagen type 82 and figures – all Tamiya.

Lovely
kit apart from the guns on the wings, I have to cut it out and stick it back
after the whole assembly process. Following the steps outline by Floyd,
the built was pretty smooth (pardon any inaccuracies if you spot them, I did not
do any in depth research).
Since
this is a Spring time (early April), I took the liberty to add in ‘color’ in
the nature scene. The covering on the wings and engine cowling are made
from epoxy putty ( I think it is a bit took thick). The benches are
scratch built and the tree trunks are actual branches.
It
was a enjoyable built. Hope you like it. Additional photos can be
found at: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?showtopic=77556&hl=diorama
Regards,
QC
