This is my MiG-21
model from KP. I bought this model sometime in 1994. I was just a child,
and I painted a Croatian scheme on it. That was my first airbrush project. It was
fully unsuccessfully done. A few years later I overpainted it with some kind of
Russian camo scheme. Very bad again. It was on my dusty closet for almost 6
years from then. Finally, I decided to make something from that thing.
I broke
every little detail apart, and I started from the beginning. I needed tons of
putty and sanding, and about two months to finish it. Many details were
scratchbuilt, some are from Academy kit - including decals.

Now, this is the final product.
Indian camo MiG-21bis with braking a parachute made from scratch. I have
used aluminium foil, copper wire, and steel wire for it. Like I said -
decals are from Academy kit, Pilot is from one of the old Hobbycraft kits and
some details are from academy "MF" kit. I cut a piece of the tail and
then replaced the standard MF spline on the kit a "bis" spline to
create the "bis" version.
I had very few reference
materials for this one. The only pictures exist on www.bharat-rakshak.com,
but only few are good.
I think that now I have very
unique model in my collection.
