1/48 Hasegawa F-16CJ

I built this kit right out of the box with the exception of the ordnance. The bombs are from Hasegawa kit "D" and the missiles are out of the box. The overall fit went nice except for the intake and the ejection seat. The inside of the intake does not line up well and the ejection seat seems oversized for the cockpit. I really regret not investing in the Black Box cockpit; it would have really enhanced the model to the fullest.

Weathering was done with pre-shading with a darker undercoat and then softening with a light coat of the base paint. Panel lines were brought out using pastel chalks. The engraved lines make it easy for the pastel water mixture flow easily.

The sidewinder protective covers were built using plastic rods from Evergreen and some squadron putty. If you plan to scratch build missile covers make sure you sand the bottom and top portions of them inward. Some people make the mistake of scratch building them in perfect cylinders like beer cans. The RBF tags are from Eduard and are worth every penny!
