Revell-Monogram issued under their name the Hasegawa kit of the famed “Stuka”. It is a good kit with adequate level of detail. By far I can dare to say it is the best kit available of this aircraft. The repackaging includes markings for the African and Mediterranean theatres of operation.

This famed aircraft could be called a “terror weapon” which was used very effectively as airborne artillery. The sirens attached to the landing gear fairings became the “shriek of death”. Allied troops during the early stages of the war were terrified by the sound of these war machines as they dove over their targets.

This kit assembles pretty easily and quick. I finished it within two weeks! A record for me! The wings presented some minor problems at the tips that I took care of with a few swipes of an abrasive pad. The fit at the wing root had some minor alignment flaws that after painting basically disappeared. The cockpit has an adequate level of detail. I only added Eduard’s pre-painted seatbelts, and used a spare machine gun from the Revell Ju 52 I was building simultaneously. This MG is much better detailed than the Hasegawa offering.

I used Modelmaster colors RLM 65, 70 and 71 for the camouflage pattern and RLM 02, 66 and Yellow, Red, Steel and Silver to detail the cockpit area.

I really enjoyed this kit, and maybe I will build another one in desert colours. This airplane has turned into one of my favorites.

Once again, happy modeling!
