Here is my Fujimi F/A-18C in 1/72nd scale depicting the CAG bird of VFA-22 "Fighting Redcocks", as deployed aboard the USS Carl Vinson during operation "Enduring Freedom". This kit goes together fairly well, and has good detail including the PE canopy mirrors. It is a little over-engineered compared to the Hasegawa kit, and the shape is not quite as a accurate in the nose area, but the quality is excellent.

The cockpit as supplied is somewhat sparse, with decals for the panels, and a basic seat. I therefore added the Airwaves cockpit detail set, and a resin seat from Verlinden. The JSOWs are from the Hasegawa weapons set number 7. I finished my Hornet with Polyscale and Gunze acrylics. Weathering consists of an enamel wash and pastels, as well as airburshed "touch-ups" to the paint.

The decals are from Two Bobs "Fighting Redcocks" of VFA-22 sheet (72-016), and went on very nicely. Overall an enjoyable kit of my favorite aircraft.
