My last P-61 is now a
good number of years old so I figured it was about time to build another one.
Where my last one was the good old Monogram kit, albeit in a Revell box, this
installment features the Great Wall Hobby version. The newer molds allow for a
better fit in general and the details are all just a little bit more crisp but
of course a number of small oddities need to be there to flavor the build and
make it real. The weirdest thing must be the poor fit of the canopy, which
however was easily corrected with some putty and careful sanding.

I added
some Brassin wheels to the undercarriage and some small bits of scratch work,
especially in the cockpit area but not that much was needed. The kit is very
nicely detailed as it is. The engines are especially nicely molded and easy to
construct and no aftermarket PE was needed because the kit already features a
nice set.
