Another bit of fun, doing an OOB built. This is the Airfix model (#A02019) of an A-2 version of the Arado Ar-196, done as a team build with my son who built the plane and added the first layer of paint while I added the finishing touches. As always, it was brushed with Tamiya paints. I simply love these sea-planes.

The Arado Ar-196 was intended to be a shipboard reconnaissance low-wing monoplane aircraft of the Kriegsmarine (German navy) during World War II. The plane was loved by its pilots, who found that it handled well both in the air and on the water. With the loss of the German surface fleet, the Arados were added to coastal squadrons and continued to fly reconnaissance missions and submarine hunts into late 1944.

I hope you enjoy the pics.
