1/48 Tamiya Lancaster DC

I think this might be my 10th Lancaster, still have one left to build. Just finished a couple 1/72 bombers for a customer and figured he might wish to buy my long ago completed 1/72 Hasegawa kit too. Well, I rather like the drone scheme, so I made a new one for myself. Start with a completely out of the box Tamiya Lancaster. Just leave off all the guns, close the bomb bay and putty all the holes for the turret guns. The spraying of the day glow orange is the hardest part of this build. Paint comes out like cotton candy and is rather fun to clean when finished.

The drones came from an Italeri DC-130. I had to cut most of the nose off, reposition it inside the shorter drone. As many times as I tried I could not get the front to look right. So I puttied it shut and made it look like a tarp covering.

The decals are mostly the new Belcher Bits 1/48 Lancaster sheet, and some spare numbers from Leading Edge. Included a build shot with the 1/72 Lancaster I just sold off. Just in case some one does not believe this is 1/48. Belcher bits made a nice conversion for the Hasegawa Lancaster a number of years ago. But not in 1/48.
