In Australia, there is a well-known story (The Loaded Dog) about two
bushmen who decided to use a stick of dynamite to catch fish in the local river (a technique known as 'using expanding bait' here in
Australia). So they primed a stick, dipped it to waterproof it, then set it aside to dry. But their big dumb dog picked it up and brought it
back to them (his friends) in their campsite. In the process, the fuse was ignited when the dog dragged it through their campfire.
Naturally, both blokes ran away, followed by their dog (still carrying
the dynamite). One ran into the local bar (pub, here in Australia), followed by the dog (and its load). Naturally, all of the patrons ran
out of the pub, followed by the dog (still carrying its load).
Fortunately, the local top-dog decided to challenge the dog for whatever
it was carrying. Naturally the dog dropped the dynamite and took off to seek the protection of his friends. Just as the top-dog was
investigation its prize, the dynamite exploded.
I built this model for a Club display. I decided on this model when I saw the expression of this little one-piece plastic dog, on a
shelf in the local toyshop.
