This is the "Must Have" kit that came out earlier this summer.  The kit is basically a Revell F-86D but with a new fuselage to accomodate the -K's increased length.  I also added a MB Mk5 resin seat from Squadron.  Ejection handles was made from fusewire, the seat was then painted using Citadel and Vallejo acryllics, and given a a wash using MIG Neutral wash.

The decals issued with the kit were way off and out of register, so I decided to go with aftermarket decals from Vingtor (www.vingtor.net, he is invaluable when making RNoAF kits, the accuracy and quality of these decals are master class).

This jet is from 334th sqd based at Bodø AB, timeframe is the late 50's . about 1958 to be more exact.  At this time the jets had got the MB seat, but had yet to receive new "long" 6"3 wings.

The kit went together well and I was surprised about the ease of construction and how well the new and old parts fit together.... very little filler was needed. After two thin coats of Tamiya primer it was "micro meshed" in prep for the BMF. I used Mr Metal Color buffable paints for this jet.  Chrome, Aluminium and Stainless in varius places to get subtle variations in both color tone and shininess.  I buffed the paint using Kleenex, this is very slightly abrasive, but still gives a very nice sheen.  The area around the canons was hand painted using MM Exhaust paint.  I have not had any clear cote to this model.. that will most lightly screw up the sheen in the paint, and as this is various over the jet a cote of laquer will make this uniform and that kinda beats the purpose of it.
