This is a 1/48 Kinetic E-2C Hawkeye.  I received this kit from Waco last year in Hals Christmas raffle.  THANKS WACO and HAL!!!! No one has done a main stream kit of the Hawkeye in 1/48 until now.  Thanks to Kinetic and the other new companies who appear to be listening to the modelers who buy their products.

The model was built for the Desert Storm group build.

The decals came from Fightertown.  One of the very few decal sheets for this rather nice kit. Best of all its the sheet is for a CVW-8 airframe, the only carrier group I build.  I'll be using the other decals on the 8 bladed E-2 I picked up at the store the other day.

The kit itself is no Tamiya for ease of assembly.  Not quite Hasegawa either.  But its sure build able.  You need a massive amount of nose weight.  I used 2 empty paint bottles and 2 full bags of fishing weights.  STILL not enough weight.  I lowered the tail hook and that seemed to do the job.  I found a large amount of putty required in some areas while other areas like the wings went together with no hassle at all.  Overall I believe most anyone can make this kit into a respectable model.
