1/48 Tamiya P-51D Mustang

My P-51D is built using the Tamiya 1/48 kit, out of the box, except for decals, which are from Eagle Strike IP4807 Blue Nose Birds of Bodney, and the two mirrors from Hasegawa kits. The Blue Nose was painted using Model Master Paints 4 Parts #2730 Chrysler Engine Blue, 1 Part #1772 Blue Angel Blue. The Aluminium finish is Model Master Aluminium Plate Buffing, Dry Brushed then Buffed.

The aircraft, Little One III, is the mount of ace pilot Capt Donald S Bryan, of the 328th Fighter Squadron, 352nd Fighter Group, Bodney, November 1944.

Capt Bryan received this P-51D when he returned for a second tour of duty in the autumn of 1944.  Scoring 8 of his 13.333 aerial victories with it.  Being an Ace in a day with 5 kills on 2 November 1944.
