As anyone who plays
in this scale would know, one of the major gaps in 1/144th scale subjects is a
decent kit of a Spitfire.

This is my conversion of one of
the old Bandai Wing Club Spitfire Mk 1 trading toys into a later Mk Vc as
used by the RAAF in the Pacific theatre during WW2. The job started by
remedying the ham fisted construction and paint by pulling it to bits and
stripping it right back. Reconstruction of the kit posed some challenges
due to the ABS plastic used. I detailed up the cockpit with sidewall
details, seat belts and a control yoke, and added the cannons and associated
bumps and bulges for the Mk Vc version I wanted.
The kit is finished
in Polly S Azure Blue, RAAF Earth Brown and Foliage Green, and marked with
custom made decals as a 79 Squadron RAAF aircraft complete with Tasmanian Devil
nose art.
