  Subject: F4U-1D Corsair

Hi Steve, I took these photos on June 26, 2001 in the Confederate Air =
Force hanger in Lancaster Texas. The restored Corsair was originally an =
FG-1D built by Goodyear. After the employees of Chance Vought (now =
Northrup Grumman) restored this Corsair, it was given the designation of =
F4U-1D. For many years it flew with a checker board nose and the number =
13 on the side. It has been recently repainted in the color scheme of =
VMF-312 the Checkerboards. According to the Checkerboards web site =
http://www.f4ucorsair.com/corsairpage/312.html 1st Lt. M. O. Chance flew =
Corsair 530.

I noticed that the site that you list as F4U-1D is actually an F4U-4.

You have my permission to use these photos.
