Modified P-51 Racer

Following info provided by  Mark Bednarczyk

This plane is Racer 38, owned by Ron Buccarelli. It was once owned by the Whittington bros. and was named "Precious Metal", and sponsored by World Jet.  At Reno, 2001, it still carried Precious Metal.  The fuselage was polished aluminum, and the wings were a gaudy lime green.  The powerplant was a Roll-Royce Griffon turning contra-rotating props.  If you look closely, you'll notice that the second set of props are chopped shorter than the front ones.  Also of note is the smooth finish of the wings. Nothing protruding to effect the smooth air flow.
There is more available on the plane elsewhere on the internet. I suggest you check
