Tamiya has provided a nicely detailed set of figures depicting a pre flight briefing amongst five pilots complimented by three ground crew, one of whom is driving the already released "moto-tug".

The figures take a little cleaning up as regular casting lines on a larger figure become even more obvious on this small scale. There are only a few parts per figure and they go together well but you might find yourself wanting to blend in the parachute to the rest of the harness with putty otherwise it will look a little disjointed. This is my first painting attempt at a 1:48 scale figure and it seems to require a different technique due to its small size but I look forward to doing more and honing the skills. Most of these guys will look great as stand alones by your aircraft but as a group they will really tell a story..

The moto-tug is a very satisfying little kit to build. In no time you have a great vehicle to compliment your carrier aircraft. I have my built up one here done straight from the box to give one of the new figures something to lean on while being photographed. I highly recommend these excellent figures to populate the bases of your aircraft models - why should all plane models look like the crews are on their lunch break?
