This new decal sheet from Cutting Edge Modelworks includes markings for 6 different Hawk 75's from Finland, Norway, the Netherlands and the RAF.  The Finnish Hawks below were captured Hawks that Germany sold to Finland so they could fight against Stalin in the east.

The first aircraft is a Hawk 75A-8 from "Little Norway" basecamp on Ontario Island near Toronto in Canada in 1942.   These were aircraft that weren't delivered before the German invasion of Norway.  The paint scheme is overall Green Primer FS 34151 with large black numbers "443" on the rear fuselage and smaller ones on the side of the engine cowling.  The control surfaces are aluminum doped in colour.  There is also red stripes on the ends of the wings (top and bottom) with small blue and white stripes.  The rudder has the same red/blue/white stripe combination.  This was a trainer and wing guns were frequently removed from these trainers.

The second aircraft is a Hawk 75A-8 from Kjeller Air Base, Oslo Norway in 1940.  The paint scheme is overall natural metal/silver with large black numbers "449" on the rear fuselage.  There is red stripes on the ends of the wings (top and bottom) with small blue and white stripes.  The rudder has the same red/blue/white stripe combination.  This was a trainer and wing guns were frequently removed from these trainers.

The third aircraft is a Finnish Hawk 75A-8 flown by Lt. Veikko Evinen, Flight Leader 3/LeLv 32 in March 1944.  The paint scheme is an overall camo of Oliivin Vihrea (darkish olive green) and Musta (dark brown) on the top side with DN color (Bluish grey on the underside).  There is a yellow band around the rear fuselage and black numbers "CU-581" on the rear fuselage.  This aircraft has blue swastikas on white round backgrounds and a large blue "1" with a white outline on the rudder.  Wing tips and engine cowling ring are yellow like the fuselage band (RLM 04?).

The fourth aircraft is a Finnish Hawk 75A-4 flown by Capt. Auvo Maunula, Flight Leader 1/LeLv 12 from Joroinen, Finland in July 1941.  The paint scheme is an overall RLM 71 green on the top side with RLM 65 light blue on the underside).  There is a yellow band around the rear fuselage and black numbers "CU-582" on the rear fuselage.  This aircraft has blue swastikas on white round backgrounds and white arrows (as in bow and arrows) on the top of the rudder.   Wing tips and engine cowling ring are yellow like the fuselage band.  You'll also notice there is artwork on the side of the fuselage in front of the cockpit of a fellow that appears to be Stalin.

The fourth aircraft is a Hawk 75A-7 flown by Sgt. P. C. Van Breen ML-KNIL, 1-VLG-IV NEIAF from Maospati Air Base in the Netherlands East Indies in 1941.  The paint scheme is camo RAF Dark Green and RAF Dark Earth on top and RAF Medium Sea Grey on the underside.

National markings are the orange triangle with white outlines and were too big to include as decals....so  3 sheets of painting masks are included to paint these triangles.  There is a narrow white band around the rear fuselage and black numbers "C329" on the side of the fuselage under the canopy.

The fifth aircraft is a Mohawk IV flown by F/O Tim Meyer with 155 Sq. SEAC, RAF from Imphal, India in December 1943.  The paint scheme is camo RAF Dark Green and RAF Dark Earth on top and RAF Medium Sea Grey on the underside.  National markings are the light blue and dark blue roundel.  There is a narrow blue(?) band around the rear fuselage and black numbers "BS734" on the rear fuselage.  There is a large white "A" on the side of the fuselage behind the cockpit area.  On the side of the engine cowling is the white text "Joe Soap II".  the wing tips and lower engine cowling ring are yellow.

The decals were flawlessly printed and in perfect registration.

The instructions are clear and include colour drawings to assist in decal placement as well as having the specific colours listed to aid in the painting process.  There is also 3 pages of text including information about all six aircraft.

A very nice decal sheet and will be helpful for anyone building a big 1/32 Hawk kit using the Trumpeter P-40B with the Cutting Edge Modelworks resin P-36 conversion set.
