Hello again from
downunder, my second submission is the 1/72 Airfix C-130 Hercules a workhorse
for many years in numerous countries. As a Royal Australian Air Force
enthusiast the subject is a C-130H during its deployment in Afghanistan 2002.
The RAAF's 86th Wing operates approx 20 airframes divided into 2
Squadrons 36 & 37 Sqn, they are made up of both the H & J variants.

This particular
aircraft A97-009 in 2002 was overall Green an still is, most of the H
models in the RAAF inventory are either Overall Green or a Camo
scheme, the J models are a light Ghost Grey.
In December 2006 the
RAAF takes delivery of the first of four C-17 Globemasters, this will increase
Australia's ability to provide transport and logistical support for its
defence forces, however their will always be a place for the "HERC".
