  Steve:

Attached is the newest ace in my collection. This is an old 1:48 =
Monogram kit I picked up on eBay with decals from AeroMaster. Although =
there are numerous Russian aces who flew Airacobras, I wanted to feature =
an American ace and the choices were limited. Lt. Bill Fiedler may be =
the only U.S. ace who became an ace in a P-39 Airacobra. He fought in =
the skies over Guadalcanal and was tragically killed in a runway =
accident.

The kit in the background is my Iwamoto 1:48 Tamiya Zero doing double =
duty with a little Photoshop tweeking of the serial numbers. The =
island/beach was challenging but I wanted this dogfight to be on the =
deck.
