“Spitfire” LF Mk.IXe is injection model kit in 1/72 scale first issued by Czechoslovak company Kovozavody Prostejov (KP) in 1984y.
This model of “Spitfire” LF Mk.IXe is my older project. I have build one mainly out of box. I have added and modified several parts (canopy, cockpit details, exhaust pipes, guns etc). I have used Humbrol enamels colours for painting.
“Spitfire” LF Mk.IXe (S-89 in Czechoslovak AF type code) was used by Czechoslovak AF in post-WWII period.
Real S-89 “IV-6“ served as fighter aircraft in 1st flight (1.letka) of LP 7 (Air Regiment No.7), Czechoslovak Air Force based at Brno-Slatina airfield on 1946y, early had been used by No.313 (Czechoslovak) Squadron RAF, late has been sold (common with other S-89s) to Israel.
