Hi all
For my latest 72nd scale jets, I present two RAF Harrier GR.7A used to support NATO forces in Afghanistan.

To mark a morale-boosting visit to forces based at Kandahar by models Lucy Pinder and Michelle Marsh, a pair of Harriers were named `Lucy` (ZD404) and `Michelle` (ZD437), and were given appropriate artwork to go with their mission marks.

The kits were both the recently released Airfix GR7/9 offering in 72nd scale with some decals from the sadly missed Model Alliance. The Airfix kit is excellent in detail and fit with few foibles and nothing that can`t be resolved. It comes with a full warload of pods and weapons which I felt had to fitted in their entirety despite the Sidewinders not being often seen in Afghanistan, if ever. It also comes with bulged tyres and a four-piece undercart that touches down on all four points without major surgery, unlike several 72nd scale Harriers, which allows the kit to capture the Harriers squat, purposeful appearance when parked.

There are also options for flap positions, nozzles, refuelling probe position, optional pilot etc... and several decal options including Afghan markings and ceremonial.

Highly recommended kit, impressive.
