I modified the USS Nimitz 1975 to
the 1981 Version. The model had provided the hanger deck but without wall and elevator gate,
I used plastic card to build the wall and gate, wall detail was drawn in
computer and printed on sticker to stick on the plastic card’s wall. The
hanger also had some lighting with LED, and to the fin tail. I used white plastic card to make a box and put on the ceiling of the fin tail, bottom was drill 3 holes for
the lighting to come out. This plastic box only needed one LED and can
light all the fin tail.
After the hanger I build the island, all the window were one in clear green plastic
sheet. I made a white plastic box again for the interior and it went through all the
levels, so I could used one LED to light all the island’s levels.
The fight deck had more
modifications. The no. 4 JBD was too long (same as No.3 JBD), so I had to
shorten it! All the running and safety lines are very thick mold on the deck, I
could not use the decal for these lines, all of it was hand painted and I used thinner masking tape to cover it and paint the deck!
