1/32 Trumpeter MiG-21MF

This is a fictitious Mig-21MF of the Macedonian Air Force, circa 1993.  The Macedonian Air Force tried to obtain a Mig-21 after gaining independence from Yugoslavia, in order to counter Albanian insurgents in the mountains on the eastern border.  The UN, however, somehow put a stop to the order.  The country later obtained a few Su-25 Frogfoot ground attack aircraft from the Ukraine to perform the same role.  This particular aircraft represents a ground attack version, equipped with a solitary 23mm cannon, rocket pods, and a 250kg free fall bomb, based at Skopje, the capital.

The kit is built straight out of the box with the exception of the addition of Eduard cockpit detailing and engine detailing, along with spares to give some additional life to the landing gear, gear bays, and air brakes. Country roundels were masked and painted, with the exception of the tail flag decals, which were from Linden Hill.  Stencils were from Tally Ho Decals.  Tamiya acrylic paints were used exclusively.

Happy modelling!
