1/48 ProModeler Fw-190G2

Gallery Article by Andy Irving

One of two 1/48 Pro Modeler FW190G2's underway, the second is in painting stage.   This represents a machine from 2./SG 4 in Italy circa 1944.  The models went together fairly easy with the exception of about an  almost 1/8 inch gap at the wing roots on both sides (on both kits).  If they had been cheap kits, I think I would have dumped them.

Paint (sand) is "Lifecolour" from Italy, first attempt at spraying, the paint went on like a slurry, a quick dash to the kitchen sink and  fortunately it washed off, second try, much thinner with lower pressure was OK (tried out on a piece of card first), don't know as 'd use it  again, although I have a bottle of Italian A/C inside grey, for my  Folgore 200, I'll test first this time.

Models are OOB with the exception of an Ultracast resin seat, and plastic tubing gun barrels.  On to the second model which gives me 5 of Kurt Tanks projects for a  "Collection "entry, have to make a base of some kind next..
